Join the Arne Nixon Center Advocates (ANCA)
ANCA, the Arne Nixon Center Advocates, is a support group for the Center. ANCA sponsors literary, social, and fundraising events, often in partnership with other community organizations. ANCA has over 440 members in 33 states, including 64 life members.
Through its membership dues and its annual Secret Garden Party, ANCA has
raised enough money to help the Center purchase the
Lewis Carroll
collection and to complete Phase 1 of a Leo Politi Garden outside the Henry Madden Library.
ANCA's mission is to:
- Foster interest in literature for young people;
- Generate excitement in sharing children's literature;
- Promote awareness for the Arne Nixon Center; and
- Address the needs of the Arne Nixon Center.
ANCA members receive:
- The Magic Mirror, the Center's newsletter;
- Advance mailings and invitations to special events;
- Discounts on selected events;
- Their name listed on the Center's website;
- Advocate level membership and above are eligible for a Madden Library Community Borrower library card;
- The opportunity to meet others with similar interests; and
- The satisfaction of knowing that their membership dues make a difference.
