LEO POLITI EXHIBIT

Politi Display

Currently on exhibit in the Arne Nixon Center Reading Room and the Shirley Harnish Brinker Gallery are the works of award-winning author and illustrator Leo Politi. On display are many framed original artworks, published books, and photographs of the artist. Also for viewing are some of Politi’s elaborate book inscriptions, many inscribed to his good friend Arne Nixon. Politi often took the time to embellish each book he signed with original watercolor and ink designs. (Follow this link for an online exhibit of these pages.)

Politi Garden Fountain

The Leo Politi exhibit coincides with the dedication of the Leo Politi Garden constructed outside the Henry Madden Library. Inspired by Politi's illustrations and created with funds raised by ANCA (Arne Nixon Center Advocates), the garden honors the friendship between Leo Politi and Arne Nixon whose collaboration helped to make Fresno a nationally known venue for children’s literature.
