Good Books, Good Friends

Petunia the Goose

Teachers, librarians, student teachers, and community members are invited to a monthly book discussion group. The Good Books, Good Friends group focuses on books to enrich the use of literature at home and in the classroom.

This book club is cosponsored by the Arne Nixon Center and the California Reading and Literature Project, part of the Literacy, Early, Bilingual and Special Education Department of Fresno State's School of Education.

Each month the group will discuss two different books, looking at them through the framework of the Common Core State Standards. Upcoming dates and titles are:

The Book Club will return to its regularly scheduled Thursdays beginning in September.


First Thursday of each month from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.


Meetings will be held at Petunia's Place Bookstore, Opus I Shopping Center, 6027 North Palm Avenue (northwest corner of Bullard and Palm).
